Social Policy
'Social policy' is the term that Citizens' Advice uses to describe the work it does to alert policy- and decision-
makers to the problems clients experience, to suggest answers and to campaign for change.
Local bureaux are often the first to hear of these problems and are also able to provide evidence to support national
campaigns. Without this evidence of the existence, the extent, and the consequences of problems, Citizens Advice
nationally cannot prove that improvements are needed and its campaigns would be ineffective. We also campaign on
national issues independently of the national organisation when appropriate.
Chichester CAB's evidence is quoted in Citizens' Advice national reports and social policy bulletins.
We also campaign locally to improve local authority services and the local offices of national organisations.
